| dc.description.abstract | Carbon dioxide (CO2), a potent greenhouse gas contributing to climate change, necessitates efforts to reduce its levels in the atmosphere. Various innovative methods such as photochemical, biochemical, and electrochemical processes aim to capture, store, and utilize carbon, thereby reducing reliance on nonrenewable sources like coal and oil. Photochemical transformation involves creating charged carriers, separating them, transporting them, and ultimately using photoelectrons to reduce CO2. Among these methods, photocatalytic reduction of CO2 is gaining traction, with research focusing on semiconducting materials such as oxides, sulfides, and phosphides.
