Pump is a device which pressurises the liquid. At its core, a pump adds energy to the liquid, which increases its pressure and/or velocity, allowing it to flow through a system. The main task faced by an engineer while drawing a pump design is with meeting the ends with the economics and the hydraulic operating characteristics. This thesis presents a comprehensive investigation into the design and experimental study of a vertical turbine pump. The study aims to enhance the understanding of vertical turbine pump performance, efficiency, and reliability through theoretical analysis, practical construction, and experimental validation. The research encompasses the development of design methodology, meticulous construction of a standard intake well pump, and rigorous experimental evaluation under varied operating conditions. Key findings and recommendations are provided to advance the field of vertical turbine pump engineering.en_US
